I feel as though I should preface this with a simple statement. I hate blogs. I hate almost everything about them. I hate the people that blog. I love to write, but I don't delude myself into thinking that my writings and ramblings bear any significance to anyone other than myself. I hate blog society. A society that feeds itself on narcissistic rage and self importance. Through blogs we create a level of self serving and self indulgence that prior to this time only existed in sociopaths and psychotics. That having been said... I am required to blog for school credit, and I will do my best to keep with this assignment in every way.
This blog will be filled with everything from travel tips to random babbling. I will try hard to at least keep it entertaining to read, even if it does not fill an interest. Please, wish me luck.
Just remember that your blog does not have to be self-absorbed or narcissistic. See what you can do to create a blog that isn't simply a form of mental masturbation. Sorry about the graphic image, but it seems to be that that is how you see blogs. Ultimately, you're right: the blog is what you make of it. And there certainly is the risk of becoming self-indulgent. If that is what you hate about blogs, make your blog do something else.
